The essence of this ideal, is people looking out for each other and ensuring we apply the same standard of care to others, as we would have them apply to us.

Furthermore, this goal should not be restricted to our employees, but must also include our families, contractors, vendors and the communities in which we operate.

Guiding Principles

The following are our guiding principles for safety and should be used to direct our decisions in health and safety management:

  • Treat safety as a personal and organizational value;
  • Safety must be managed like all other business functions;
  • Safety must be integrated into all aspects of the company;
  • Focus on the management system, results will follow;
  • Accountability is key to an effective management system;
  • Working safely is a condition of employment; and
  • Keep it as simple as possible.
